Nickel-plated chains are used in humid environments and where corrosion is undesirable.

They are also used where the chains are in sight and one wants to achieve a particular optical effect. In principle, all steel chains can be nickel-plated. The nickel layer on the steel parts ensures a somewhat reduced breaking load.
If this corrosion protection still offers insufficient protection, stainless steel may be a solution. Stainless steel chains, however, have a significantly lower tensile strength than steel chains or nickel-plated chains.
Nickel-plated chains made in accordance with DIN 8187 are kept in stock.

Double pitch roller chains

Double pitch roller chains according to ISO 1275 consist of the round parts (pins, bushes, rollers) used for simplex roller chains according to ISO 606 and double-pitched plates.

Our double pitch roller chains can also be supplied as maintenance-free Marathon chains, in a stainless steel design, with bent attachments, straight attachments and extended pins. Special designs according to customers’ requirements are also available.

Heavy duty/high capacity chains

Side bow chains

The construction of side bow chains is similar to roller chains according to ISO 606.

The construction of side bow chains is similar to roller chains according to ISO 606. However, in contrast to roller chains, a chain joint modification makes it adaptable to a given space and curve-going.The capability for lateral bending of the chain links is achieved by either using a specially machined pin or by bigger tolerances between pin and bushing. The lateral backlash between inner and outer links is adjusted accordingly. Depending on the respective design, the chains can be used as of 250 mm curve radius. Side bow chains are usually employed in conveying systems where, apart from the usual joint flexibility, curve-going capability is required.

Side bow chains with specially machined pins can be equipped with all the usual attachments and special plates. Due to their design, however, they have a small bearing area and are consequently only suitable for lower loads than comparable roller chains.

For the design with bigger tolerances the diameter of the pin was reduced in comparison with the respective roller chain. The hole pitch of the outer plate was modified accordingly. Attachments can be supplied as individual extra components. The bearing area is smaller than that of a comparable roller chain.

Push dog chains

Chains with pusher dogs provide a positive-locking connection for the transport of piece goods

Chains with pusher dogs provide a positive-locking connection for the transport of piece goods. The pusher dog is a multi-part linkage that can be attached anywhere on a chain strand.

Owing to the exactly matched individual components the pusher dog has a very important additional function, compared to fixed attachment, since it is in an upright position during the entire transport distance. It pushes forward the item in front of it in a positive-locking connection.

In the deflection phase around the sprocket the pusher dog submerges downwards keeping its position at right angle. Thus exact positioning is possible without damaging the goods. Due to the kinematics, there are advantages for the construction engineer regarding the handover to subsequent transport stations.

Apart from standard pusher dogs we can also supply customer-specific solutions such as single-arm pusher dogs, devices for overhead application, and stainless steel types.
